One of God's Smiles

Sometimes the little unexpected things can be one of God's smiles. I've been relatively angry and depressed this week, it just comes with being bipolar sometimes.

But anyhow, I woke up and I got ready for church and as I walked out the door I came nose to nose with my landlady's dog, Buddy. He's really a sweet dog and reminds me of a big bear. He's some sort of collie mix, I think.

When they first got him, he had to be tied up or kept in the backyard or he'd run off. His first owners abused him and it was somewhat apparent in how hyper he was and how snippy! But he calmed quickly and it was fun to have him as apart of the apartment grounds. :) He's always happy to see you!

Well, there he was lounging in the front yard with no leash. I honestly expected him to bolt the second he saw me. Even more so when I went for the chain to hook to his collar. But he didn't, he was a totally sweetie and let me pet him and hook him up to that darn ol' leash.

So the day went by and I realized that my landlady was out of town with her family. I hadn't seen Buddy eat or drink anything since I had tied him up that morning. So I gave her a ring and she told me where the food and water stuff was at and asked me to do some dog sitting. :) It was nice and Buddy was happy for the attention. And it was nice for me too. I might be inclined to get a dog someday, if it's as well behaved as Buddy, but for now, I'll just borrow him on occasion.

I can't wait for summer! Then I can take Buddy on walks! If I have the time. *sigh*

But the rest of the day was fun as Ben was awesome and made dinner today. Gotta love steak! Only bummer was he had to work today. *pouty face* Oh well, if ya gotta, ya gotta. He allowed me to torture him with all of my story ideas and even share a few. :P Thanks Ben!

I'm going to enjoy the last moments of having the apartment all to myself. Whoot!
